WWE.com have posted what they class as the top 10 strangest Pole Matches of All Time. AJ is involved, read below.
Mistletoe on a Pole Match – SmackDown: Nov. 29, 2011
There was a much more romantic prize on the line the next time Divas were involved in a Pole Match. Jolly Old Saint Mick Foley hung mistletoe from the pole with care during his holiday SmackDown special. The Diva who retrieved it would receive an unknown prize from Foley.
All of the SmackDown Divas hit the ring in the hopes of getting an early holiday gift, but it came down to the Bella Twins in the end. There was no Twin Magic in the air that evening, as Brie tripped her sister into the corner, and then walked up her back to grab the mistletoe. Brie thought she had earned a future Divas Title opportunity, but Foley informed her that wasn’t the case; she had earned an opportunity to kiss the Superstar of her choice before December 25th. Apparently, the twin opted to keep her lip lock private.
Pop quiz: WWE Champion CM Punk is locked in a room with Daniel Bryan, Kane, and AJ. Who poses the biggest threat to his championship, and why?
Punk will have to deal with all three, in some form or another, at No Way Out when he defends his title against Kane and Bryan in a Triple Threat Match, and yet the answer is not as cut and dry as the WWE Universe might assume. Kane and Bryan are two wildly different breeds of Superstars with incredibly different motivations for wanting to square off against Punk. And AJ? Well, we can’t figure AJ out at all, which makes her just as much of a wild card as anyone. And when Punk has to contend with Bryan and Kane in the ring, with AJ likely lurking in his corner at No Way Out, it’s likely the WWE Universe is in for a wild set of twists and turns, with the champion besieged by threats to his reign from all sides.
But who poses the biggest danger to Punk’s title? This is where we come in
AJ?
Yes, that AJ. The hundred-pounds-soaking-wet, shy-smiling, girl-next-door “Geek Goddess” who may good and well be the biggest threat walking to CM Punk’s WWE Championship. It’s an odd thing to consider, since AJ’s entire role in all of this has been a slavelike devotion to Daniel Bryan, followed up by an odd fixation on CM Punk. Since her acrimonious split from Bryan after his WrestleMania loss to Sheamus, AJ’s become more than a little unhinged, decking her best friend Kaitlyn backstage and mauling Natalya in a Divas Match on SmackDown (WATCH). And now she’s taken to shadowing Punk and wearing his T-shirt, alternating between wracking sobs and a crazy-eyed eagerness to please that seemed to alternately terrify the WWE Champion and pique his interest.
Thus far, AJ’s actually proven herself of use to Punk, tossing him a chair to fend off an attack from Kane on Raw SuperShow. And Punk seems to like having her around, what with him “digging crazy chicks” (his words, not ours) and all. But one thing AJ has shown is that she’s incredibly unpredictable, and let’s not forget she doesn’t have the greatest of track records as a good-luck charm for a World Champion. Her infamous pre-match kiss with Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XXVIII directly led to the jaw-shattering Brogue Kick from Sheamus that robbed Bryan of the World Title in a record 18 seconds. We doubt Punk is quite so easily distracted as that, but through no fault of her own, AJ’s Fatal Attraction obsession with The Voice of the Voiceless might end up costing CM Punk the WWE Championship one day very, very soon.
Come to think of it, it may just happen at No Way Out …
The WWE Universe was buzzing about CM Punk’s match against Daniel Bryan on Raw SuperShow, but it wasn’t just about the intense action in the ring. Bryan’s ex-girlfriend AJ showed her true colors by wearing a cutoff version of Punk’s official T-shirt and matching armbands as she cheered on The Straight Edge Superstar from ringside. The Geek Goddess drew a wide range of reactions from our fans on Twitter, both for her fetching ensemble and for coming to the WWE Champion’s aid after the match.
AJ isn’t the first WWE Diva to don The Straight Edge Savior’s look, however. During the Oct. 31, 2006 edition of ECW on SyFy, Kelly Kelly rocked the Halloween contest with her cutoff Punk T-shirt, taped-up wrists and assortment of lookalike tattoos. Kelly Kelly’s outfit didn’t notch her a victory in the contest, but it sure made Punk take notice of his admirer’s fashionable effort.

In honor of Earth Day 2012, WWE.com presents an exclusive photo gallery of WWE’s “greenest” Superstars and Divas, including AJ and her green ring outfit.

As a result of her accidental collision with Big Show during SmackDown’s World Heavyweight Title Match this week, an injured AJ had to be carried out on a stretcher. But, who is to blame and what will be the fall-out of such a tragic mishap? The only certainty in this situation is that nothing is certain.
Just how bad was AJ hurt after a full-on collision with The World’s Largest Athlete?
According to WWE physician Dr. Michael Sampson, “AJ is pretty beat up, as you can imagine. She has head trauma, a cervical sprain/strain and also multiple contusions all over her body.”
Still, no matter when the numerous physical injuries subside, is it possible that the emotional scars could run much deeper? An impact like the one AJ experienced would be a traumatic situation for anyone. With that in mind, could the sheer memory of it keep the spunky beauty out of action indefinitely? If she does return, will she be the same positive force inside the ring that she was before she was run over by the 441 pound behemoth?
Even as the healing process for AJ is just beginning, questions are already flying as to just who was to blame for such a horrendous occurrence. Big Show – noticeably shaken from his involvement with the injury – clearly feels responsible. There is no telling the effects this will have on the gentle side of this fierce giant. However, Daniel Bryan might also share some of the blame, since he brought the action into AJ’s path by running in her direction in the first place.
In that same vein, could AJ herself be somewhat responsible for her fate? Despite being an unfortunate victim, she did choose to be at ringside during a brutal No Disqualification, No Count-out Match – a contest that, by definition, guarantees that the danger will move outside the ring. Is SmackDown GM Theodore Long at fault for allowing AJ to be at ringside? She isn’t Daniel Bryan’s manager. She’s his girlfriend. Significant others, nor any others, are allowed at ringside without WWE’s approval.
There is also the question of what effect this will have on Daniel Bryan. Could it humble him enough to shake off the sizeable ego he has displayed since winning the World Heavyweight Title? Or will he simply adapt a new fury, channeling his resentment against Big Show?
If the tense moments after the AJ incident were any indication, Bryan will certainly place the blame squarely on Big Show’s gigantic shoulders. He has already established – in recent weeks – that he is not afraid to face the massive Superstar in the ring, or even to insult him to his face. If he makes the giant the focus of his scorn, there is no telling how far he will go to gain retribution.
Video gaming is regularly portrayed as a male hobby, though many women are hardcore gamers. WWE Diva AJ happens to be one of those ladies.
One of AJ’s favorite new games is THQ’s “WWE ’12.” Before she stepped into a WWE ring, AJ was a big fan of WWE’s video game series, something that continues to this day.
She told WWE.com that she has all the WWE games from the SmackDown vs. Raw series, as well as the games that preceded them. In fact, she racked up plenty of in-ring video game experience before she ever learned to grapple.
“I would make myself in the games all the time. I would spend hours and days doing that,” the diminutive Diva explained. “Those games helped me live out my dream when I couldn’t actually do it.”
That’s one reason why AJ is so impressed with “WWE ’12.”
“The create-a-wrestler is way more detailed. You can draw in it, so you can make a very, very specific AJ in it, which I plan on doing, since I’m not in the game.”
Though she’s not in this year’s WWE video game, AJ has high hopes that she’ll make the cut for next year’s version of the game and beyond. One of her favorite things to do after creating herself is entering the virtual fray for the WWE Divas Championship against her fellow competitors. Once she does get into the game, AJ has some expectations as to how her character should look in the virtual ring.
“I hope that I’m true to size. I’m a 100-pound, 5-foot-2 tiny little person,” AJ explained. “I hope my moves are in there. And my fighting stance, I remember the games used to have a Lita stance and a Molly Holly one, different ways to hop in the ring.”
The rookie Diva went on to explain how little details from WWE games influenced her as she became a sports-entertainer. “I’ve always been really conscious of [the details], because of the games,” AJ said. “I was like ‘Wow, if I could do something more specific for myself with more personality, maybe I could actually be in a game one day.’”
As a female gamer, the stereotyping can get a little old, but as AJ explained, it’s still fun to shock an opponent every now and then.
“People definitely underestimate you,” the pint-sized Diva said. “Then you play them and murder them and they rethink their opinions.”
Until she becomes a real video game character, AJ will be spending plenty of time creating the perfect representation of herself. When she’s got it just right, there will be plenty of trash talking. Does the Diva have a go-to catchphrase after she decimates an unlucky foe?
“There’s definitely some DX catchphrases and/or hand gestures involved,” AJ said. “I always have two words for them.”
AJ:
“For me, it’s not about personal stuff. I’d be happiest if every homeless dog could get a home, if every dog in a shelter could get adopted. And while Santa’s handing things out, I would also like a Skip-It. That’s for me.”
In this month’s “WWE Magazine,” AJ gives dating advice on how to move out of the “friend zone.” Well, AJ, your own “friend zone” may have gotten a little bit smaller. Cue the Taylor Swift break-up song. It’s cry time.
There’s an unwritten law that women BFFs like to use: sisters before misters. No matter who comes in your life and shows romantic interest – your best friend should never be left out to dry. And with the budding romance between Mr. Money in the Bank Daniel Bryan and the pint-sized warrior, Kaitlyn is the BFF letting the “mister” come in between her “sister.”
Now, it’s become increasingly evident that AJ’s recent run of losses at the hands of Divas Champion Beth Phoenix and her cohort Natalya have left the season three WWE NXT winner fed-up. On commentary, it was said Kaitlyn felt Daniel Bryan was taking away AJ’s focus from the matches at hand – and costing them valuable wins in the Divas division.
Why are these wins so important? With Beth Phoenix and Natalya running roughshod over the division, a chance to show their stuff against the pin-up strong duo is quite the opportunity – one Kaitlyn feels AJ squashed.
Kaitlyn knows AJ’s dream – ever since sitting in Madison Square Garden with her father (READ), AJ has wanted to become a Diva. Best friends know the 411. They encourage you to reach your dreams. They tell you when you hair might be a little bit too “poofy,” chastize you for listening to Kreayshawn’s “Gucci, Gucci,” on repeat while travelling and tell you that “of course your plaid matches your outfit.” But, best friends do not walk away when the other is in trouble. Once as a lesson, maybe. But twice? Kaitlyn may be letting the evil eyes of jealousy dictate what’s happening in the squared circle.
So, all you “Chickbusters” fans, it might be time for Kaitlyn and AJ to get out of the mall photo booth and onto Dr. Phil. Kaitlyn was given an amazing opportunity by winning WWE NXT and earning a coveted spot in the Divas Division. But if she keeps letting “puppy love” fuel the flames in the ring, she might just be squashing her opportunity of a lifetime.
WWE.com Exclusive has posted another video of AJ showing and talking about her concern for her friend Daniel Bryan who was attacked during Smackdown from Mark Henry…
Throughout November, WWE Superstars and Divas are paying tribute to an important cause – “Movember.” They’re showing their support for men’s health awareness by growing – or drawing on – mustaches.
“Movember is about mustaches – mustaches galore!” Kaitlyn told WWE.com. “But it’s also about raising awareness for prostate cancer and giving men’s health its own month – kind of like how Breast Cancer Awareness Month is in October. It’s all for a good cause.”
Kaitlyn is just one of several Superstars and Divas celebrating Movember by issuing a challenge to the WWE Universe to join their cause and support the fight against prostate cancer, plus other cancers that affect men.
“Movember consists of growing a gnarly mustache – for me, at least. It’s not a very good mustache, but I am letting it go all out,” Ted DiBiase admitted to WWE.com. “I’m very happy and proud to because it’s for a great cause. We are raising money for prostate cancer research and raising awareness to help battle prostate cancer.”
At the beginning of Movember, “Mo Bros” like DiBiase and Johnny Curtis start off clean shaven. Throughout the month, as they grow mustaches, they will raise money and awareness for their cause.
“My great uncle, Earnest, had prostate cancer, and a couple of my cousins have prostate cancer, so this is a really great cause for me, personally, having family members who have had it before,” Curtis said.
“I’m going to grow a caterpillar – a Theo Huxtable across the top lip,” the NXT Rookie turned WWE Superstar explained.
“Mo Sistas” – such as Kaitlyn and AJ – will cheer on the Mo Bros in their cause, and have also started support teams.
“Originally, I thought, how could I contribute? So I thought, ‘I’m going to grow a mustache.’ I tried and you know what? My genes won’t let me – not that great. It’s kind of there, but not really,” AJ joked.
“Movember is not just limited to guys. Guys are the ones who actually have the ability to grow mustaches for us, but girls can join our teams, too. We just did the fancy little mustache on the finger,” the Diva said, holding her index finger to her upper lip.
“You can get a Mario and Luigi mustache if you want. I saw a pair of sunglasses with a hanging mustache, so that’s pretty awesome. You can participate any way you want. Just join our team!” she said, encouraging the WWE Universe to visit her Twitter — @WWEAJLee – for more information.
Like AJ, Kaitlyn hopes to gain Movember supporters online and through social media.
“My team name for the month of Movember is ‘Kaitlyn’s Dapper Dudes and Dudettes,’ “ the NXT season three winner said. “I’ve been retweeting a lot of awesome mustache pictures for people who have been submitting them to me. It’s really fun and it gives people a chance to be a part of it. So, if you have an awesome mustache, or if you can draw one on, definitely send it to me, and I will retweet it!”
This is the first time DiBiase is growing a mustache, and he’s proud it’s in honor of Movember. “If this can be one of those things that brings awareness and attention and helps save some lives, then I’m on board,” he said.
Does DiBiase think his new look will stick? He says it just might grow on him.
“Maybe I’ll consult with the WWE Universe and see what they think,” he said. “Hey, if they like it, I might rock it for another month. But I do have to take Christmas card pictures pretty soon, so we’ll see. I have no qualms with rockin’ the ‘stache for a little while – as long as it’s not too itchy!”
